Marijuana Legaization: Why does industrial Hemp fall in the same boat as weed?

We all know Hemp has very very little THC (the active ingrediant in Marijuana), so why does it fall in the same drug catagory as Marijuana? We could save thousands of trees, clothe many people cheaply. And because it's a weed it is a renewable resource. What are your opinions on this topic?
